Domestic Shipping and Handling Cost

Free Shipping Option
We offer Free Canada Post ground shipping, or we may choose a courier ground shipping on domestic purchases over $115 (before taxes). Free shipping generally can take between 4-14 business days which includes the time to process the order and the duration, will vary by your location. Should you require your order faster, please choose the paid upgrade shipment options at check-out. All shipments are sent tracked.
Please note: We reserve the right at our discretion to require a signature confirmation, or, for your order to be sent directly to the Post Office for pick-up.

Unfortunately due to high shipping costs for orders from Canadian Territories (Northern, Yukon and Nunavut), we are unable to offer free shipping to these areas.

Order Shipping Charges
For faster shipping options, and orders below the $99 (before tax), shipping charges can be calculated directly on our site. The charges are calculated using an automated shipping software connected directly to the carriers site, and calculates the charge depending on the speed, location, size and dimensional weight of the package. All orders are shipped with tracking and will be shipped via the option paid.

Order Processing Time
All orders placed will be subject to a 48 hour processing time to allow time for credit approval, address verification and order processing.

Shipping Address Using Paypal
Charals will only deliver your order to the Paypal confirmed shipping address
so please ensure the name and shipping address matches the one you insert in Paypal’s system at the time of your payment. Unfortunately, as per Paypal’s policy restrictions, we are unable to make any Name or Shipping Address changes (even if you gave a different one on the Charals site), and will only use the name/address you provided to Paypal.

Shipping Address Accuracy
Please be careful to put the correct name and shipping address at the time of order/payment.  If you make a mistake, please contact us immediately. Unfortunately if your order has already shipped and left our premises, there is nothing we can do. No refunds will be provided by Charals.  Please bear in mind that if Canada Post returns your unclaimed parcel back to us, the initial cost of shipping it to you and the cost of return back to sender charges, will be deducted from the refund even if you originally received free shipping.

Estimated Shipping Duration
Canada Post and Courier services do not deliver on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. Average ground transit time is 3-14  business days (does not include processing time) depending on your location. Additional shipping fees may apply. Please allow extra time for deliveries to non-major centre’s and remote locations. Charals is not responsible for delivery delays that may occur as a result of poor weather conditions and parcel volume, as we have no control over these conditions, and are not responsible for weather-related damages occurred during order transit after shipping.

Lettermail Option
If your purchase is eligible, you may request your small flat  light weight paper refill orders to be shipped via Canada Post regular envelope lettermail without insurance and tracking information. If you choose this shipping method,  should the parcel get lost in transit or be late, there is nothing we can do and Charals is not responsible for your order. By choosing this method,  you fully accept and understand this risk. Please contact us directly for Lettermail shipping.

Shipping Inks during Inclement Weather
Due to the nature of ink cartridges and ink bottles freezing or bursting during colder weather, Charals does not offer Free shipping nor Standard paid shipments on any ink cartridges or ink bottles orders during cold weather. Should you still wish to order ink items during inclement weather, to limit the risks, we can only ship via Express shipping,  requiring additional shipping charges. Please also note, as some fountain pens come with an ink cartridge in them, the cartridge will be removed from the shipment in your order due to the above reasons.  Although, we do our best to package your items as best as we can to ensure the item(s) get to you safely,  as we have not control once the package leaves our premises, Charals cannot be responsible for any weather related damage to your items and no refunds will be provided.

Tracking Information
After your order has been processed, you will be sent a Shipping Confirmation email that will offer the ability to track your shipment. Once your package leaves our premises, the only information we have access to is the tracking information provided by the carrier.

Third Party Shipping Addresses
Charals will not ship to 3rd party receiving institutions including but not limited to; UPS Stores, Mailboxes Etc, Hotels, Freight Forwarding companies, etc.

In-Store Pick-up
If you have chosen to pick-up your order in-store, please email us to let us know when you will be picking it. At the time of your pick-up, you will be required to provide a valid piece of ID and a CC that matches Paypal’s details

International Shipping

Due to licensing agreements, not all brands are available to be shipped out of Canada.  For items allowed, please call us. The shipping costs will be determined by product dimensional weight and our current shipping rates will be applied to your order upon checkout. Upon completion of your order, we will ship.  Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.  These charges are “you” the Buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what the additional costs will be prior to your purchase.

Shipping Status/Tracking

After your order has been processed, you will receive an e-mail informing you that the order has shipped and tracking information will be provided. You may also view your order online by logging into your Account and selecting “My Orders.”
